AN OLD WORLD LEATHER, UPDATED
Based on the leathery Cuir de Russie scents of the early 1900s, Cuero follows in the footsteps of the androgynous classics, while injecting the warmth of Texas and Mexico.
Created in collaboration with the minds at Stash Leather of Round Top TX, in their historic factory space.
Inspired by both the legend, and the actual Cuir de Russie (or Russian Leather) scents, of the early 20th century. For cigarette smoking women who wear gloves, and modern tsars on horseback.
Our version skews a little more Butch Cassidy, than Duke Dimitri.
CUERO
TOP: bright citrus, white florals, dusty woods
HEART: jasmine grandiflorum, leather, cypress
BASE: labdanum, smoke, vetiver
A fleeting burst of citrus and soft florals quickly becomes rooted in the dryer, dusty woods of cedar and birch. Deepens on the skin, and is joined by the slightest hint of warm jasmine, before developing into darker resins and smoky leather.
Cuero was inspired by the Stash Leather factory in south Texas. The space emits it's own scent. Scraps of samples lay in piles, and the heat of countless Texas summers is buried in the wooden shiplap walls. Everything carries a patina; everything is aged. But there's also a sweetness, a dusty breeze of cedar and floral meadows.
These are the portions of the Stash experience we wanted to recreate.
